Where: Pass Christian, Miss., 66 miles east of New Orleans.

Opening Bid*: $2.365 million

Due Diligence: This Victorian home was built in the 1850s and designated as a National Historic Landmark. The owners, Joe and Shannon Cox, paid $1.2 million for the home five years ago and spent close to $1 million renovating it. "We wanted to keep the 1850s feel of the place, but also wanted to add some modern details," says Mr. Cox. The improvements included a three-bedroom guest house and a master-bedroom suite with French doors that open to views of the Gulf of Mexico. They built a temperature-controlled, 3,000-bottle wine cellar into the basement.
