Due Diligence: Owner Patrick Sherwood, a former advertising executive, and his wife, Jill, paid $3.6 million in 2000 for this house. Corporate chiefs who live in the area include DaimlerChrysler president and CEO Dieter Zetsche, Detroit Pistons owner Bill Davidson and Jacques Nasser, the former president and CEO of Ford Motor. This home was originally a brick Colonial when it was built in 1948, but renovations in 1998 added a Cape Cod shingle-style exterior and raised ceilings on the first level to 18 feet by eliminating the floor above, according to Christopher J. Longe, the architect who handled the work. Plumbing and electrical systems were also updated, he says. The master bedroom has a private balcony with views of the grounds and the pool. The master bath has dual-vanity closets and a marble bath. Mr. Sherwood, 53 years old, says he and wife are going back to their native California.
