[House of the Week]

What: 319-acre ranch near Yellowstone National Park

Where: Livingston, Mont., about 26 miles southeast of Bozeman

Amenities: Six-bedroom main house, guest cottage, one-bedroom barn/artist studio, three-stall garage, mountain views

Asking Price: $15 million

Opening Bid*: $14.3 million

Listing Agents: David Johnson, Hall & Hall, Bozeman, Mont., 406-587-3090

Due Diligence: Almost two miles of this ranch border the Yellowstone River, in the Paradise Valley area. Renaissance Ranch, as it's known, sits about 45 miles north of the Montana entrance to Yellowstone National Park and about 85 miles east of the Big Sky ski resort. The property includes a creek and a 5½-acre pond with trout fishing. Retired airline executive Dan Todd, 67 years old, says he and his wife, Barbara, a retired hedge-fund manager, bought the property in 1989 and finished building the two-story, 6,400-square-foot main house in 2002. Facilities on the property would allow horse and cattle to be run there.
