Due Diligence: Richard and Barbara Pivnicka, who specialize in restoring and selling historic properties, are completing a thorough renovation of this Beaux Arts mansion, which they bought last year for $8 million. The 1902 Presidio Heights house was redone in 1928 by builder George Wagner, whose family sold the property to the Pivnickas. The couple spent "several million dollars" on redoing plumbing and the mansard slate roof, carving a garage out of hillside rock and other work, Mr. Pivnicka says. Neighbors include U.S. Sen. Diane Feinstein. The monthlong San Francisco Decorator Showcase will take place in the house beginning April 29, with 25 designers contributing to such aspects of the house as plaster details, wallpaper and kitchen-cabinet finishes.
