Due Diligence: Detroit Red Wings center Robert Lang, who is entering his 13th NHL season, bought this home in 1998. It's built in a modern Low Country-style, a mostly regional style that employs a mixture of plantation and colonial design elements. The property sits in Haig Point, a gated community on the northern point of the island. (Access to 5,000-acre Daufuskie Island is only via private boat or ferry.) Two of the home's bedrooms are en suite with private screened porches, with fairway views of nearby Haig Point golf course. The living room has cathedral ceilings, crown moldings and hardwood floors, and the kitchen includes granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances and wood cabinetry. The home is being sold fully furnished along with a Haig Point golf membership, two Detroit Red Wings custom golf carts, and a 24-foot-long sports boat. Mr. Lang, 35 years old, joined the Red Wings in 2004. He was born in Teplice, now part of the Czech Republic, and won a bronze medal playing with the Czech national hockey team in 1992 and a gold medal in 1998.
