Due Diligence: This 2002 house sits just off the third fairway of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Chiricahua golf course, one of six Nicklaus courses in the Desert Mountain golf community (buying the house brings playing rights at all six). Owner Kim Graham, who built the house with her husband four years ago, says it is close enough to the course that the family never needs to buy golf balls -- they can just pick them up in their yard. Ms. Graham said the house was meant to look like "a 100-year-old Tuscan farmhouse" -- complete with slate floors, stone façade and plaster imported from Amsterdam -- but with all the modern conveniences, including a vanity mirror that doubles as a television. The three-bedroom main house features two offices, an infinity pool and a covered outdoor dining room that overlooks the desert and golf course. A one-bedroom guesthouse is connected by a private patio. Ms. Graham said the couple never planned to sell the home, but they are moving an hour away to Phoenix, where their daughter attends middle school.
