Glass Houses

During the past three years more people have been requesting homes with lots of windows to get a greater amount of natural light, says Allyson Bernard, regional vice president of New England, for the National Association of Realtors. Heres a look at three glass houses at a broad range of prices.

LOCATION: Stillwater, Minn.
PRICE/PROPERTY TAX: $399,900 / $2,364 annually
THE PROPERTY: 2,752 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 3 bath on ¾-acre
DESCRIPTION: This 1972 home has several three-story-high windows, a freestanding wood-burning fireplace in the living room and a patio overlooking a protected wildlife area.
NOTABLE: A trout stream encircles this home designed by local contemporary architect John Cunningham. It is one block to marinas on the St. Croix River.
