Women own or co-own about 20% of construction firms, reports HousingEconomics.com. And many women builders add features that appeal to the lady of the house. Here are three homes from three women builders.

  • Jefferson, Ga.
  • Oak Brook, Ill.
  • Morro Bay, Calif.

PLACE/PRICE: Jefferson, Ga./$379,000

THE PROPERTY: 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths built in 2006

DESCRIPTION: On the main floor of this 2-story home with wrap-around porch is a master suite with double French doors, a secondary bedroom with private bath, a study, a 2-story great room with stone fireplace and a formal dining room.

NOTABLE: In this 3,400-square footer, the living room and second-floor loft are both office-ready. "Having a second computer-TV room for the kids is becoming a necessity in today's market," says Sue Campbell, owner of SC Properties.
