Baby boomers are a big force behind the booming second-home market. When purchasing a residence, many of these buyers favor houses with a one-floor design, according to the "Home Design Trends Survey" by The American Institute of Architects. In the AIA study, 62% of architecture firms reported that homes are becoming more accessible with features like a one-floor design, wider hallways and fewer steps. Here is a roundup of single-floor homes in sought-after vacation locales.
