Construction Index
Hits High Mark in June

From The Wall Street Journal Online
July 23, 2007

The Architecture Billings Index jumped more than four points last month to 59.3, reaching its highest mark of the year. The index is derived from a monthly survey of architectural firms conducted by the American Institute of Architects. It is designed to forecast construction activity nine to 12 months in the future. Survey participants are asked whether their billings increased, decreased or stayed the same in the month that just ended. Any score above 50 indicates an increase in billings.
